Discovery Solar was established in the Northern Rivers NSW by Gary Edgar, a qualified electrician with extensive experience in solar and battery systems, including senior technical leadership roles within the industry.
Rather than operating as a traditional installation company, Discovery Solar focuses on independent system design and ensuring each project is delivered properly from start to finish.
Each system is carefully designed based on the property, energy usage and long-term performance, with no reliance on pre-set packages or sales-driven recommendations.
Installation is carried out by a trusted local partner, with all work overseen and inspected to ensure it meets the required standards and performs as intended.

Gary has spent much of his career working within the energy and solar industry, developing a strong understanding of system design, performance, and the challenges associated with large-scale energy use.
Discovery Solar was established to take a more considered approach — focusing on getting systems right at a local level through thoughtful design, proper installation, and long-term performance.
Gary is known for providing clear, straightforward guidance, helping clients understand how their system works and what it’s designed to achieve without unnecessary complexity.
